In 2019, the City developed the Climate Equity Index (CEI) in a community-driven process with local nonprofits and community-based organizations. The CEI was updated in 2021 based on stakeholder feedback. This map serves as a visual representation of the CEI\u2019s scoring. CEI scores are averaged across 41 indicators. Higher CEI scores indicate census tracts with a higher access to opportunity relative to tracts with lower CEI scores, with respect to the indicators analyzed. All scores are standardized across a 0-100 scale. The 2021 CEI version added three indicators (Ozone, PM2.5, and Diesel Particulate Matter), replaced the Heart Attack Fatalities indicator for Cardiovascular Disease, and separated the Proximity to Waste Sites indicator into four separate indicators: Toxic Releases from Facilities, Clean Up Sites, Hazardous Waste Generators and Facilities, and Solid Waste Sites and
